The method involves completing searching and identification of hidden animals (1) by front end sensors (3) upstream to a camera (4) in drive direction (6) of an agricultural vehicle. The searching and identification is divided into two regions, which check the processing patrolling consecutively to be inspected during the movement of the agricultural vehicle. The front region in the drive direction is inspected with the front end sensors and another region following the former region is inspected with the cameras. An independent claim is also for a device for searching and identification of animals hidden in agricultural fields and meadows by mechanical processing, particularly mowing.
