A multi-stage gearbox comprising:! input part; ! output part; ! stationary part; ! a first and second planetary gear unit, wherein the first planetary gear mechanism has a first, second, third, fourth and fifth element; wherein the second planetary gear train has a first, second, third and fourth element; while the elements of planetary gears are solar gears, ring gears and carrier; wherein the first element of the first planetary gear unit is constantly connected for joint rotation with the input part; wherein the first element of the second planetary gear unit is constantly connected for joint rotation with the output part; the second element of the second block of the planetary gear is constantly connected to the stationary part; however, none of the elements of the first block of the planetary gear transmission is constantly connected for joint rotation with any of the elements of the second planetary gear; and! seven torque transmitting mechanisms that are designed to selectively engage with each other to connect the corresponding elements of the first planetary gear unit to the input part, stationary part or corresponding elements of the second planetary gear unit, while seven torque transmitting mechanisms are designed to engage various combinations to create up to ten ratios of forward speeds and one ratio of reverse speeds between the input hour tew and the output part. ! 2.
