PURPOSE: A method for predicting the power consumption of an embedded software by using a unified modeling language(UML) design model is provided to reduce the development time and cost by analyzing the power consumption in the designing stage of an embedded software and adopting the analysis. CONSTITUTION: An EBU(Energy Behavioral Unit) definition and a power library are established, and a design model through a UML(Unified Modeling Language) is created. The design model is converted into a CFG(Control Flow Graph)(S200), and the EBU is sensed by tracking the flow of the CFG based on the EBU library(S300). The unit power consumption of the sensed EBU is calculated(S400), and the accumulated power consumption is calculated by accumulating the unit power consumption(S500).
