PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for compensating spherical aberration in an optical disc device are provided to efficiently improve the quality of data recording/reproducing quality.;CONSTITUTION: When an optical disc is inserted, a spherical aberration is compensated(S10,S11). At the same time, a current temperature is measured/stored(S12). A search operation is requested during a data recording operation or a reproduction operation(S13,S14). The current temperature at the requested point of time is measured. The temperature deviation between the measure current temperature and the current temperature stored at the point of time when the spherical aberration is calculated(S16). The spherical aberration is re-compensated according to the temperature deviation(S18).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
