PURPOSE: A microstrip directional coupler and a design method thereof are provided to easily implement a microstrip directional coupler without degrading performance in a high frequency band by using a shunt grounding stub. CONSTITUTION: A microstrip coupled line is arranged on a dielectric at a uniform interval. The microstrip coupled line includes a first microstrip line(205) and a second microstrip line(206). A first inductor(207) is connected between the middle point of the first microstrip line and the ground. A second inductor(208) is connected between the middle point of the second microstrip line and the ground. The first and the second inductor are implemented by using a shunt ground stub.
