PURPOSE: A CRC management method for a SATA interface and a data storage device thereof are provided to enable the SATA interface to inform a host of a host interface block error, a data integrity error, or a reported status error.;CONSTITUTION: A host interface(110) transmits data transmitted to a host and the first CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) code about the data. The host interface executes the SATA(Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) protocol with the host. If an error is included in the data, the host interface generates the second CRC code and transmits it with the data. A storage medium(180) stores and reads data on the SATA protocol in response to control signals generated from command information and control information analyzed in the host interface.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
