A method is intended for translating messages exchanged between an equipment (E2) of a circuit switched network (PN), with Intelligent Network capabilities, and an IMS application server (AS1). This method comprises a step of translating:- either a received IN protocol message into a SIP message able to be handled by this application server (AS1) and containing at least one additional dedicated SIP header and/or a dedicated new SIP message designed to adapt the behaviour of this application server (AS1) to facilities and/or constraints provided by the circuit switch network equipment (E2),- or a received SIP message, coming from this application server (AS1), intended to the circuit switched network equipment (E2) and containing at least one additional dedicated SIP header designed to adapt the behaviour of this IMS application server (AS1) to facilities and/or constraints provided by this circuit switch network equipment (E2), into an I N protocol message.
