The invention relates to an integrated optical phase modulator (110) for a fibre-optic interferometer comprising a substrate (112) and an optical waveguide (114), which is integrated in the substrate (112), wherein at least one outer surface (116, 118, 120, 122, 124, 125) of the substrate (112) is modified such that light that propagates in the substrate (112) is reflected from the at least one outer surface (116, 118, 120, 122, 124, 125) of the substrate (112) to a reduced degree compared with an unmodified outer surface of the substrate. In a method for producing an integrated optical phase modulator (110) for a fibre-optic interferometer comprising a substrate (112), in which an optical waveguide (114) is integrated, at least one outer surface (116, 118, 120, 122, 124, 125) of the substrate (112) is modified such that light that propagates in the substrate (112) is reflected from the least one outer surface (116, 118, 120, 122, 124, 125) of the substrate (112) to a reduced degree compared with an unmodified outer surface of the substrate.
