THE COMPONENT PROTEIN OF AMILOID P DE SERERO (SAP, SAMP) AS A MARKER OF FORECAST AND DIAGNOSIS FOR THE PRENATAL DIAGNOSIS OF TRISOMY 21 (DOWN SYNDROME).
A method for prognosis and / or diagnosis of trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) in fetuses that includes: a. Quantitative detection of the serum amyloid P protein component (SAP, SAMP, Swiss Prot No: P02743) in peripheral blood, serum and / or plasma of a pregnant woman, and b. the comparison of the quantitative value of that protein obtained in phase (a) with the quantitative value of that protein in the same biological fluid of women carrying chromosomally normal fetuses. C. the prognosis and / or diagnosis is positive if the quantitative value of the serum amyloid component protein P (SAP, SAMP, Swiss Prot No: P02743), is greater than the qualitative value of that protein in the same biological fluid of carrier women of chromosomally normal fetuses.
