Use of from 0.025 to 0.250 mg of an effective treating amount of palonosetron in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in a human, wherein said palonosetron is contained in a liquid formulation at a concentration ranging from 0.03 to 0.2 mg / ml, and wherein said palonosetron is administered in a window about 4 hours before the operation to about 4 hours after the operation.
