The use of an 11-deoxy-prostaglandin compound for the manufacture of a composition for the treatment of a peripheral vascular disease in a mammalian subject, wherein the composition comprises an effective amount of an 11-deoxy-prostaglandin compound, wherein said compound 11-deoxy-prostaglandin is a compound represented by the formula (III): where L is hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, linear or branched C1-C6 alkyl, linear or branched C1-C6 alkyl hydroxy, linear (C1-C6 alkanoyl or branched) oxy or oxo, the five-member ring may optionally have at least one double bond; A is -CH3, -CH2OH, -COCH2OH, -COOH or one of its salts, ethers, esters or amides; B is -CH2-CH2-; Z is where R4 and R5 are hydrogen, hydroxy, halogen, linear or branched C1-C6 alkyl, linear or branched C1-C6 alkoxy or linear or branched C1-C6 hydroxyalkyl, where R4 and R5 are not hydroxy and linear C1-C6 alkoxy or branched at the same time; X1 and X2 are both halogen; R1 is a saturated or unsaturated bivalent straight or branched chain hydrocarbon group having 1 to 14 carbon atoms, which is not substituted or is substituted by halogen, alkyl, hydroxy, oxo, aryl or a heterocyclic group, and at least one of the carbon atoms in the aliphatic hydrocarbon is optionally substituted with oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur; and R2 is a straight or branched C1-C6 alkylene or single bond; R3 is linear or branched C1-C6 alkyl, linear or branched C1-C6 alkoxy, linear or branched C1-C6 alkanoyl, oxy, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, oxy, aryl, aryloxy, a heterocyclic group or a heterocyclic-oxy group, and at least one of the carbon atoms in the aliphatic hydrocarbon is optionally substituted with oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur.
