implantable device for regulating blood flow running through a blood vessel, said device comprising: a) an elongated frame (12) is dimensioned and configured to be implanted in a blood vessel, including the frame parts (14, 16) constituting axially spaced rings and at least one connecting element (18) which connects the parts constituting axially spaced rings; b) a valve membrane (20) is supported between the constituent parts of rings spaced axially of the structure and adapted for movement between a first position in which blood flow through the armature is allowed and a second position which inhibits blood flow through the armature; characterized in that the valve membrane has a part (24) constituting the body part (22) is a narrow elongated neck that, in the first position, extends in a diametral direction of the device, and the second position extending in an axial direction of the device adjacent to a circumferential region thereof.
