A method for assessing the resistance of species and hybrids of plants of the horse chestnut genus (Aesculus L.) to the chestnut miner moth (Cameraria ohridella deschka et Dimic) includes direct quantitative determination of the content of endogenous phytohormones, in particular indolyl-3-acetic acid (IAA), zeatin, zeatin riboside and abscisic acid (ABA) in plant leaves. An index of integral biochemical phytohormone balance Bp is used as the main index. Selection of fresh leaves of the lower, middle and upper levers of species and hybrids of plants of the horse chestnut genus is carried out prior to the beginning of appearance of the chestnut miner moth (phase of the beginning of plant flowering). Extraction, treatment are carried out, and the content of endogenous phytohormones in plant leaves is determined. The index of integral biochemical phytohormone balance Bp is calculated according to the formula:.
