METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFICACY OF EXPERIMENTAL EARLY REGENERATION OF INJURED PERIPHERAL NERVE

A method for assessing the efficacy of the experimental early regeneration of the injured peripheral nerve facilitated by bioflavonoids provides for morphological examination of the nervous tissue. Upon modeling the injury of the peripheral nerve by standard technique, the following drugs are injected paraneurally for 10 days: Lipoflavon 0.1 mg/kg, Lipin 0.1 mg/kg, Corvitin 0.1 mg/kg. The ultrastructure of the specimens sampled in 3 and 6 weeks is studied: the density of the nerve fibers and the angle of their deviation from the injured nerve are measured. The data are compared with that in control. The decreased degeneration of the nerve fibers and blood vessels as well as the decreased fibrosis in the injured nerve is indicative of the efficacy of the early regeneration of the injured peripheral nerve facilitated by bioflavonoids.
