The invention relates to a process and an installation for making a railway frog and frog point, as well as to a process for joining a frog or point with a railway. According to the invention, the process consists in moulding frogs or frog points in some horizontally arranged moulding boxes, using a moulding sand in a furane resin : sand ratio of 2.1...3.4% and a curing agent : resin ratio of 30...32%, the operation of mixing the sand with the curing agent lasting for 50...70 s and the mixing thereof with furane resin for 115...125 s., the mixture having a permeability of at least 500 units and a compression resistance of 10x 13 kg/m, with a steel composition of 0.95...1.3% C, 11.5...14% Mn, Si0.55%, S0.03%, P0.04% and 0.4...0.5% Cr, followed by the removal of pieces from the box, covering them with hydrated lime and thermal hardening in a vertical furnace, at 1200°C, following a diagram which provides for pieces heating from 150°C to 850°C, at a rate of 70°C/h, and from 850°C to 1150°C at the rate of 70°C, while maintaining the temperature for 3 h, followed by cooling in water at a pressure of 40 at. The claimed installation consists of a furnace with a metal casing (3), a hearth (5) stamped with refractory concrete and a layer (4) of heat-insulating concrete, lined with tiles (6) of ceramic fibres; above the casing (3) there is provided a pivoting arch manipulated by means of the hydraulic cylinder (14), the casing (3) having at its top part an arch supporting frame (9) sustained by some metal ribs (10) and three fans (12). The claimed joining process consists in welding the railway frog or point to the rail, where the composition of the thermite mixture is so selected that the composition of the weld metal is 0.06...0.08% C, 2.0...2.5% Mn, 0.5...0.9% Si, 24...27% Cr, 19...22% Ni, 0.5...0.8% Mo, P ≤ 0.03%, S ≤ 0.02% and 0.01...0.1% Al.
