Disclosed is a herbicidal composition which comprises (1) a herbicidal sulfonylurea compound or its salt selected from flazasulfuron, foramsulfuron, halosulfuronmethyl, iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium, nicosulfuron, prosulfuron, rimsulfuron, trifloxysulfuron-sodium or tritosulfuron; and (2) a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether phosphate or its sa wherein the mix ratio of (1) the herbicidal sulfonylurea compound or its salt to (2) the polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether phosphate or its salt is from 13:1 to 1:10,000 by weight ratio. Further disclosed is a method for controlling undesired plants or inhibiting their growth, which comprises applying to the undesired plants or to a place where they grow a composition as defined above.
