The invention relates to counterfeit protection and authentication of valuable documents. According to the invention a method of production photoluminescent polarization protective element is disclosed, a protective element made according to said method, a method of verification the authenticity using said protective element. The method of production photoluminescent polarization protective element comprises the steps of: a) applying a layer of liquid-crystal composition on a surface of a substrate made of anisotropic polymer material having a structured surface, the layer of liquid-crystal composition is structured in the direction coinciding with the direction of structuring the substrate surface, wherein said liquid-crystal composition consists of liquid-crystal monomer adding thereto a polymerization photoinitiator and luminescent dyes, while the orientation of the luminescent dyes molecules coincides with the orientation of the liquid-crystal monomer molecules, b) irradiating at least one portion of said liquid-crystal layer by UV, forming at least one polymerized anisotropic portion of the layer in which a homogenous orientation of molecules both liquid-crystal polymer and luminescent dyes is recorded, c) a layer of the liquid-crystal composition is heated, wherein at least one unexposed portion of the liquid-crystal layer transforms into isotropic state and UV radiation during 1 minute is performed covering the whole surface recording said al least one isotropic portion, thus stipulating forming in the liquid-crystal layer preset combinations from latent image visible in polarized light and latent polarized photoluminescent image, d) applying a protective transparent layer for all surface of the protective element. The document authenticity with the protective element is verified using a mirror reflector and linear polarizer, with visualization of latent image at natural radiation and UV radiation of the protective element.
