SMALL BACTERIAL SYNTASE ACETOLACTE SYNTASE (AHAS 1) MUTANT SUBUNIT, MUTANT ACETOLACTATE SYNTASE, DNA, ENTEROBACTERIACEAE FAMILY BACTERIA, AND METHOD TO PRODUCE A RAMIFATED CHATA ITAASTE ALASYANASTE IASTEXAS A BACTERIATE SYNTABASE ITEMS L-valine feedback inhibition is described. Also described is a method of producing branched chain L-amino acids using a bacterium of the Enterobacteriaceae family wherein the L-amino acid productivity of said bacterium is enhanced by the use of acetolactate synthase (AI-IAS 1) which is resistant to feedback inhibition. by L-valine. This acetolactate synthase contains a small mutant subunit encoded by the mutant ilvN gene.
