B METHOD TO REDUCE THE TOTAL QUANTITY OF ONE OR MORE PATHOGENS IN A LIVING PLANT, APPLIANCE TO REDUCE THE TOTAL QUANTITY OF ONE OR MORE PATHOGENS IN A LIVING PLANT OR MUSHROOM, OR PART OF THEM, METHODS FOR REMOVING ONE OR MORE PARTS FROM ONE LIVE PLANT AND TO IMPROVE THE VITALITY OF A PLANT, AND, USE OF A DOSAGE OF UV-C ON A LIVE PLANT OR MUSHROOM D The present invention relates to a method to control pathogen growth on live plants and mushrooms using UV-C light and an apparatus for use in the method. Methods are also provided for removing surplus leaves and methods for destroying parts of the arterial plant to harvest bulbs, tubers or underground roots.
