PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a highly elastic amorphous anisotropic melt-forming polymer suitable for being used for the production of various formed articles, to provide the polymer produced by the method, and to provide the formed article produced from the polymer.;SOLUTION: This method for producing the highly elastic amorphous anisotropic melt-forming polymer having repeating units derived from p- hydroxybenzonic acid, 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid, at least one aromatic dicarbnoxylic acid and at least one aromatic diol, and/or a hydroxyamine at least whose portion is 4,4'-biphenyl, characterized by compounding the polymer with resorcinol and at least one additional polymer for imparting selected meta- bonds to the produced polymer and containing the repeating units in the polymer in specific amounts, respectively. The produced polymer is especially suitable for being used for multi-layered laminates and bicomponent fibers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
