PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optimizing a system.;SOLUTION: The performance of plural design parameters of a target function modeling a system is expressed in a search space. A set of vertexes is arranged in the search space. The respective vertexes have related performance. The model includes plural constraint conditions. The constraint conditions and target function are grouped according to plural unique hierarchical levels. The group including the target function has the highest level. According to grouping of the constraint conditions and target function, the performance of a specified vertex is evaluated in the order from the low level to the high level. If the related level is not high level, when the evaluated performance becomes negative, immediately the evaluated performance and related level are allocated to the specified vertex, and in that case, the allocated performance is evaluated by the target function and the search space is divided into plural sections according to the above level.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
