PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an H-mode drift tube linac in which existence of changes in electric field distribution caused in a cavity of the accelerator can be observed in real time to assist in early detection of a failure or the like and adjustment of the electric field distribution can be carried out easily to save time and effort of adjustment even during the operation of the linac.;SOLUTION: The H-mode drift tube linac is provided with an accelerator cavity 1 which serves as a vacuum container as well as a resonator, a plurality of drift tube electrodes 2 which generate acceleration voltage in the charged particle axis direction in the accelerator cavity 1, and a plurality of tuners 5 which adjust the distribution of the electric field generated in the gap 4 between the drift tube electrodes 2. Antennas 6 which measure the changes in the electric field distribution are installed at least at three positions, that are the central position along the charged particle axis direction of the cavity gap 1 (Z axis direction) and positions on the both ends.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
