PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the separation of metal type single wall carbon nanotubes and semiconductor type single wall carbon nanotubes with high precision with a simple operation by a density gradient centrifugal separation method.;SOLUTION: The metal type single wall carbon nanotubes and semiconductor type single wall carbon nanotubes are separated by dispersing carbon nanotubes into an aqueous solution containing a surfactant capable of monodispersing the carbon nanotubes, then inserting the resulting aqueous dispersion of the carbon nanotubes into a tube for the centrifugal separation, in which a density gradient is formed by using a density gradient-forming agent containing a surfactant exhibiting different aggregation characteristics for the metal type single wall carbon nanotubes and the semiconductor type single wall carbon nanotubes, and performing the centrifugal separation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
