PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse code modulation (PCM) signal demodulation circuit that performs demodulation with high precision, even when noise is contained in an input PCM signal.;SOLUTION: A demodulation timing determiner (timing controller 24, local clock 25, PLL 26, envelope predictor 27) inputs a zero-cross detecting signal zb, inputs a peak detecting signal pb, generates data pt containing phases and amplitudes for one period of an input PCM signal ib, stores the data pt as envelope data to create reference phase sample information and reference period information, creates prediction information ef for phases and amplitudes in a subsequent period of the input PCM signal ib on the basis of the reference phase sample information and the reference period information, compares the prediction information ef with phases and amplitude in a subsequent period, and outputs a demodulation timing signal tc when an error is settled within a predetermined range.
