System for detecting dynamic state of hitch that is utilized for connecting trailer with towing vehicle, has detection units connected with determination unit that determines instability of relative instantaneous position
The system has detection units i.e. sensors, detecting the relative instantaneous position (alpha) of a hitch with respect to a towing vehicle. The detection units are connected with a determination unit (22) that determines the instability of the relative instantaneous position. The detection unit comprises a measuring unit that measures hitch angle with respect to a reference axis of the towing vehicle. The measuring unit comprises a set of distance sensors that measure distance between points at the rear of the towing vehicle and several points opposite to the front of a towed trailer. An independent claim is also included for a method for stabilizing a drawn motor vehicle.
