Audiovisual program i.e. audio-video content, identification method for set-top box of Internet protocol TV, involves comparing identification information with data in reference database representing predetermined audiovisual program
The method involves determining an own identification information of an audiovisual program from a received data stream. An identification message containing the identification information is transmitted to an audiovisual program identification device using a backward channel established through a communication network. The identification information is compared with reference data contained in a reference database representing a predetermined audiovisual program. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for identification of an audiovisual program received in the form of data stream by a receiving device (2) a video content analyzing device placed between a receiving device and an audiovisual program restitution device (3) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for identification of an audiovisual program.
