Rotating device for rotating antenna in e.g. airborne radar on ship, has rim rotationally sliding relative to hub when rim is subjected to shearing force greater than sliding force based on locking force applied on friction pad
The device has a rolling bearing (1) comprising a fixed element (12) connected to a fixed part and a movable element (23) driven in rotation by a drive pinion (5) that is driven by a motor. A movable part has a hub (21) fixed relative to the movable element. A rim (22) supports a mechanical structure i.e. antenna, and is connected to a core by a circular ring shaped friction pad (C') locked between the hub and the rim. The rim rotationally slides relative to the hub when the rim is subjected to a shearing force greater than a sliding force based on a locking force applied on the pad.
