The vehicle has a guiding zone (17) and a bearing zone (16) located on a rail of a wheel, and made of a material whose sliding friction coefficient is higher than that of steel. The material is made of elastomer and polyurethane. The zones define a cross section of a periphery of the wheel in L-shape. A brake system has a disk brake assembled on an axle. An assistance device has an electric boost motor assembled on the axle and directly assembled on a wheel, and assists displacement of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a wheel provided with a guiding zone and a bearing zone on a rail, for a railway vehicle.
