Motor vehicle stopping detection method for hill-start assistance system, involves confirming stopping of vehicle by null vehicle speed deduced from measurement of odometer, when vehicle speed estimated based on independent data is null
The method involves estimating speed of a motor vehicle based on data independent from measurement of an odometer, when the vehicle speed derived from the measurement of the odometer is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold value, where the odometer is used for measuring angular speed of a wheel of the vehicle. Stopping of the vehicle is confirmed by null vehicle speed deduced from the measurement delivered by the odometer, when the estimated vehicle speed is null.
