Transmission efficiency measuring method for digital data flow, involves stopping counters based on detection of last section of burst, and establishing efficiency criterion for burst corresponding to ratio of counters
The method involves detecting a section of burst by a detecting unit, and initializing two counters by an initializing unit when the section is detected. Multi protocol encapsulation data sections are counted within the burst by one of the counters. Stuffing sections are counted. The counters are stopped based on the detection of last section of the burst. Efficiency criterion is established for the burst corresponding to ratio of the counters. An independent claim is also included for a transmission efficiency measuring device comprising a detecting unit.
