The balancing machine has the crankshaft (2) supported by a number of bearings (3,4,5) corresponding to the crankshaft bearing points (10,11,12) and rotated for detection of the imbalance. The latter is corrected by selective removal of material, using a clamping device (8) for fixing the crankshaft and a material removal device (7), which are positioned independently of one another. An Independent claim for an imbalance correction device in a crankshaft balancing machine is also included.
