Control piston for damping system for changing damping characteristics of system in motor vehicle, has cover covering support body, where body and cover are formed as integral plastic, injection-molded part
The piston (1) has a cover (3) covering a support body (4). The body and the cover are formed as an integral plastic, injection-molded part. The cover is made of thermoplastic resin i.e. polyamide, and the support body is made of thermoplastic elastomer i.e. polyamide. A sliding ring (5) made of PTFE is arranged at an outer periphery of the cover. The support body has a conical section (4a) for sealing a flow channel with a sealing effect when the conical section rests against an opening of the flow channel. Undercuts are provided at the piston.
