Coated cylindrical friction contact surface i.e. iron chromium layer, processing method for four-cylinder in-line engine of motor vehicle, involves moving electrode and contact surface relative to each other, and processing contact surface
The method involves moving a processing electrode (3) and a coated cylindrical friction contact surface (2) to be processed relative to each other in a translatory, rotary and/or translatory manner during pulsed electro-chemical machining (PECM) of surface, where the friction contact surface is made electrically conductive material. The friction contact surface is processed using the processing electrode such that closed porosity existing within a surface proximity area of the friction contact surface is laid in an open manner. An independent claim is also included for an electrode comprising an electrode section.
