Safety device for disconnecting high voltage battery in e.g. electric vehicle from electric circuit during short circuit, has safety fuse connected parallel to pyrotechnical fuses, and series resistor connected upstream to safety fuse
The device has a safety fuse (1) connected parallel to pyrotechnical fuses (3, 4), and a series resistor (2) connected upstream to the safety fuse. The pyrotechnical fuses have two pyrotechnical fuse elements that are arranged in series. Ohmic resistances of the pyrotechnical fuses are 10 times smaller than the ohmic resistance of the series connection of the safety fuse and the series resistor, where the series resistor has the ohmic resistance of 1 milliohm. A measuring shunt (7) is connected upstream to terminal contacts (5, 6) and is evaluated by electronics (8).
