Method for detecting probable lane of passenger car, involve compensating displacement of vehicle, such that detection area of radar system is virtually increased, while considering radar images during generation of total radar image
The method involves detecting surrounding of a vehicle by a radar system, and processing successive partial radar images to a total radar image (G), where the radar system is arranged in the vehicle. The total radar image is actualized based on the partial radar images, and displacement of the vehicle is compensated in such a manner that a detection area of the radar system is virtually increased, while considering the partial radar images during the generation of the total radar image. A probable lane (S) of a vehicle is determined from a total line curve included in the total radar image. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting a probable lane of a vehicle.
