Fuel quality determining method for common-rail fuel injection system of diesel engine of vehicle, involves measuring conductivity of fuel, and determining quality of fuel based on measured conductivity
The method involves measuring conductivity (L) of a fuel, and determining quality of the fuel based on the measured conductivity. The conductivity is measured by direct current (DC) voltage measurement or impedance measurement by an electrochemical thin layer cell (190) that is arranged in a low-pressure region such as fuel tank (110) or fuel pipe. The quality of the fuel is determined by comparing the measured conductivity with a predetermined threshold value. An engine function and a display are controlled based on the determined fuel quality. An independent claim is also included for a tank for storing or conveying fuel.
