The water barrier has a waterproof film, which is held up at multiple retaining brackets with their long side facing away from the water, so that the longitudinal edge runs with gap above the ground. The retaining bracket has an approximately L-shaped form, seen from the side, and reclining shank runs partially under the film in the assembled condition, where the erect shank (13) has a holding device (21) for holding up the film.
