The method involves arranging spinvalve-based magnetoresistive (MR) sensors (11-14) on a current-carrying conductor loop. An S-shaped conductor (1) is selected as the conductor loop. The MR sensors on the conductor loop are interconnected to form a bridge arrangement in such a manner that a linear bridge is formed from linear individual components. Geometry of the conductor and geometrical arrangement of the MR sensors on the conductor are selected in such a way that the same amount of a magnetic field acts on each sensor during current flow. An independent claim is also included for a device for suppression of external interference fields in a bridge arrangement of spinvalve-based magnetoresistive (MR) sensors.
