Inspection device for detection of formation of ice in e.g. engine inlet of short-to-medium-range, narrow-body, commercial passenger jet airplane, has housing with one end attachable to view opening of vehicle
The device (2) has a housing (8) with an inlet opening (18) and an outlet opening (16). A mirror (10) is positioned in the housing and is inclined at an angle (alpha) with respect to the wall of the housing. An end of the housing lies in the region of the inlet opening and is attachable to a view opening (6) of a vehicle i.e. airplane, such that light beam entering into the view opening is guided to the outlet opening from outside of the vehicle by the mirror. The range of vision through the outlet opening proceeds diagonally to the view opening, where the housing is made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for an airplane comprising a view opening.
