Recording material comprises a substrate and a coating having polyurethane, where the coating is applied to one side of the substrate. The coating includes 70-50 wt.% of a polyisocyanate containing difunctional polyisocyanate and 30-80 wt.% of an aromatic structure containing polyol. 20-10 wt.% of hydrophilic component with a hydrophilic group and an isocyanate group, and 4-28 wt.% of a hydrophobic component are also included in the coating. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing recording material, which involves providing substrate, where a coating containing polyurethane is applied on the substrate.
