The method involves stimulating a visual system in a multi-focal and color-channel selective manner according to a principle of Ilmenau display and eye adapted silent substitution technique. A stimulation sequence in time course is adapted to a stimulation system with a time corrective term, where the time corrective term includes time offset due to response time of a stimulator, time offset due to representation location at the stimulator and time offset due to wavelength-dependent image build-up time at the stimulator. An independent claim is also included for a device for stimulation of a visual system, comprising a control unit.
