Portable data carrier i.e. chip card, testing method, involves performing testing of characteristics of data carrier, and utilizing starting time as defined start time point, where starting time lies after event triggering write operation
The method involves carrying out interruption of an external power supply of a portable data carrier i.e. chip card, at or before a defined start time point. Testing of characteristics of the data carrier is performed during a write operation or between two write operations. A starting time is utilized as the defined start time point, where the starting time lies after an event i.e. command, that triggers the write operation. The command is sent by a reading-/writing device to the data carrier, and a write cycle in the data carrier is utilized as predefined criteria. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing a portable data carrier.
