The method for destruction-free testing of welding seam, which is produced by a friction stir welding process using a friction stir tool (1) between two joining partners (2, 3), comprises locally introducing heat in an area of the welding seam, and capturing the heat flow caused by the local heat introduction on one of the joining partner. The captured heat flow partially penetrates the welding seam to be tested, and is compared for detecting errors of the welding seam with a reference. The heat introduction produced by the tool during the welding is captured on one of the joining partner. The method for destruction-free testing of welding seam, which is produced by a friction stir welding process using a friction stir tool (1) between two joining partners (2, 3), comprises locally introducing heat in an area of the welding seam, and capturing the heat flow caused by the local heat introduction on one of the joining partner. The captured heat flow partially penetrates the welding seam to be tested, and is compared for detecting errors of the welding seam with a reference. The local heat introduction produced by the friction stir tool during the welding is captured on one of the joining partner close to the welding seam. The local heat introduction of the welding is carried out downstream to one of the joining partner by heat impulse and the heat flow is captured on the other joining partner by a thermography, a thermal-imaging camera or infrared scanner. An independent claim is included for an arrangement for destruction free testing of welding seam.
