Method for manufacturing plastic sheathed support that is utilized as cam roller in e.g. patient bed, in medicine technology, involves hardening synthetic resin and producing outer contour of support by post-processing of plastic sheath
The method involves soaking a sleeve thread with liquid synthetic resin, and winding the soaked thread around an outer ring of a support. The synthetic resin is hardened, and a desired outer contour of the support is produced by post-processing of rolled plastic sheath. The support is suspended and twisted before a winding on a shaft. A thickness of the plastic sheath is determined by number of windings of a sleeve thread. The sleeve thread is made of cotton fiber, aramide fiber, glass fiber, carbon fiber or metal fiber. An independent claim is also included for a plastic sheathed support comprising an outer ring.
