Axial piston compressor for use in compression circuit of air conditioning system for motor vehicle, has support structures that are extended in tangential direction such that support structures partially overlap adjacent pistons
The compressor has multiple pistons (3) fixed with support structures that are designed such that a main component of a resulting supporting force acts in a radial direction with respect to a central symmetrical axis (7). The support structures are extended in a tangential direction such that the support structures partially overlap the adjacent pistons or extend upto an area of the adjacent pistons. The support structures define rotation of the pistons about a central axis of the pistons by a support on an adjacent component.
