The hydrodynamic machine, particularly hydrodynamic converter or hydrodynamic coupling has a pump wheel (1) and turbine wheel (2) circulating about an axis of rotation, which forms a work space (3) filled with a working medium. A speed limiting valve (4) is provided in a working fluid line (5). A speed relief valve is provided in a stationary non-rotating component (6).
