The stocking is formed as support stocking or surgical stocking. The stocking is made of an elastic textile material. The tubular shaft (1) of the stocking is separated over its entire length, and each of the two cutting edges (3,4) is connected firmly with one of the two strips (5,6) of a zipper. The strips are provided with teeth, which lie opposite to each other. A slider (7) is inserted between the teeth of both the strips.
