The method involves applying a seed mat (S) with seeds (SG) on a landscape. The seed mat is formed from a substrate (T) on which seeds are placed. The placing of the seeds on the substrate is controlled in intensity or color in such a manner that the growing plants yield a desired motif. The seeds are applied on a foil formed of polyvinyl alcohol. An independent claim is included for a device for applying motif on a seed mat.
