The device has a retaining device (13) for retaining a seal carrier (12) or a component forming the seal carrier. A lifting cylinder (14) comprises a lifting plunger (15), and attaches a honeycomb seal (10) on the seal carrier in a single stroke. The lifting plunger has a contour adapted to the honeycomb seal. The honeycomb seal and the seal carrier are compressible with a crimping force (Fh) by the plunger. The lifting plunger is formed as an electrode. Positioning and stopping units (18) are attached to the retaining device for aligning the honeycomb seal on the seal carrier. An independent claim is also included for a method for connecting a honeycomb seal with a seal carrier.
