The reinforcing insert comprises a U-shaped cross section, where a plastic material is flexibly shaped on an intersection of a U-bar to a U-shank. The U-bar is connected with the U-shank by an integral hinge and by the flexibly shaped sections over the connection through an adhesive bond in a form fit manner. The U-bar is connected with the U-shanks by welding, bonding and locking.
